Fondue dining is making a comeback to the party success it had in the 60s and 70s.  Fondue is possibly some of the most entertaining dining experiences for large gathers or intimate dinners.  They are easy to make with countless dipping options.

 

“Fondue” comes from the French word “fondre” which means “to melt”.  And as the namesake indicates, the contents of the fondue pot are melted and used as either a dipping sauce or cooking broth.  Two of the more common fondues are cheese and chocolate.

 

Chocolate fondue can either be served in a ceramic fondue pot or the more interesting chocolate fondue fountain which typically has chocolate flowing down over two or three tiers.  Chocolate fondue fountain are very common for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, corporate events and other functions. Chocolate fondue fountains are simple, delicious and can be the focal point of large gatherings.
